Bij Barcode Architects ontwerpen we meer dan gebouwen. We creëren inspirerende ruimtes, verrassende structuren en architectuur met impact. Ter versterking van ons team zoeken we een ambitieuze PR & Communicatie Manager die met ons wil meegroeien en helpt vormgeven hoe ons werk, onze ideeën en onze projecten met de wereld worden gedeeld.
Ons portfolio bestaat uit publieke gebouwen, woningbouw, onderwijsgebouwen en masterplannen: van Sluishuis in Amsterdam, CasaNova en The Muse in Rotterdam, tot de ontwikkeling van het Rijnhaven-masterplan in Rotterdam en het Stadtforum in Dresden. Projecten die mensen raken en plekken creëren die hun omgeving nieuw leven inblazen.

Jouw rol
Je ontwikkelt en bewaakt de PR- en communicatiestrategie van Barcode Architects en stemt deze af met de directie en partners. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor het bijbehorende budget en de resultaten, zoals persbereik, mediawaarde en naamsbekendheid. Je geeft functioneel leiding aan een junior medewerker en zorgt dat verhalen uit het bureau en events vertaald worden naar persberichten, publicaties en social media content. Je bouwt en onderhoudt een netwerk van journalisten, redacteuren en andere relevante media, en signaleert kansen om ons werk nationaal en internationaal onder de aandacht te brengen.
Je krijgt veel ruimte en verantwoordelijkheid in deze rol. We zoeken iemand die initiatief neemt, zelfstandig werkt, en ook de interne communicatie efficiënt weet in te richten en te bewaken.

Jouw takenpakket

• Ontwikkelen en uitvoeren van de PR- en communicatiestrategie, inclusief budget- en resultaatverantwoordelijkheid (persbereik, mediawaarde, naamsbekendheid)
• Ondersteuning bieden aan Business Development, met name op het gebied van marketing en communicatie.
• Leidinggeven aan een junior medewerker.
• Afstemmen van strategie en resultaten met directie en partners.
• Schrijven en redigeren van persberichten, award-inzendingen, publicaties en social media content.
• Vertalen van complexe projecten naar aansprekende verhalen voor verschillende doelgroepen.
• Creëren en begeleiden van events zoals exposities en workshops.
• Opbouwen en onderhouden van relaties met journalisten en redacteuren, en vertegenwoordigen van Barcode Architects bij events, conferenties en persactiviteiten.
• Signaleren van relevante PR-kansen.
• Bijhouden van de Barcode-website en socials, en begeleiden van de fotografie rondom onze projecten (wanneer nodig, zelf op locatie).

Dit ben jij

• Sterke organisatorische en leidinggevende vaardigheden.
• Nederlandstalig.
• Uitstekende schrijf- en spreekvaardigheid in het Engels.
• Minimaal 5 jaar relevante werkervaring.
• Achtergrond in of sterke interesse in architectuur.
• Zelfstandige werkhouding, gecombineerd met het vermogen dingen tot de bodem uit te zoeken.

At Barcode Architects we design more than buildings. We create inspiring spaces, surprising structures, and architecture with impact. To strengthen our team, we’re looking for ambitious Architectural Interns who are eager to learn, contribute to live projects, and grow in a fast-paced, international studio.

Your role

You’ll join one of our project teams and work alongside experienced architects on Dutch and international projects. Expect a steep learning curve: from design studies and model making to drawings, visuals and competition/tender support. You’ll receive clear guidance, regular feedback, and plenty of room to develop your skills.

What you’ll do

• Support concept, schematic and detailed design work (studies, drawings, visuals)
• Build physical and digital models and prepare presentation materials
• Contribute to competitions and tenders (layouts, boards, text & image coordination)
• Collaborate closely with your project lead and the wider team; document your work clearly

Your profile

• Current enrolment in Architecture (BSc/MSc) or a closely related field (required)
• Strong graphic & modelling skills; Rhino, AutoCAD and Adobe CC are a must (Grasshopper/Revit are a plus)
• Affinity with physical model making and prototyping
• Accurate, curious, hands-on, and a team player
• Excellent command of English (Dutch and other languages are a plus)
• Availability for a minimum of 6 months, full-time (32–40 hours/week)
• We offer two main start periods: February–March and August–September (flexible by agreement)

To strengthen our visualisation team, we are looking for an ambitious VR / Visualisation Intern who is eager to learn, contribute to high-quality visual outputs, and grow within our fast-paced, international studio.

The role

As a VR / Visualisation Intern, you will work closely with our architects and visualisation specialists to develop immersive and high-end digital content. You will contribute to VR environments, animations, renderings, and visual storytelling for competitions, design studies and project presentations. You will receive guidance, regular feedback, and the space to develop strong visualisation and technical skills.

What you will do

• Create 3D scenes, assets and environments for VR and visualisation
• Support the production of still renderings, animations and immersive experiences
• Build and maintain VR walkthroughs (e.g. in Enscape, Twinmotion or Unreal)
• Prepare visual content for competitions, tenders and presentations
• Collaborate with design teams; ensure clear structure and documentation of your work
• Contribute to digital material libraries and workflow optimisation where possible

What you bring

• Current enrolment in Architecture, Media/Design, Digital Arts, Game Design or a related field (required)
• Strong 3D and visualisation skills
• 3D modelling experience with Rhino is a must
• Experience with tools such as Enscape/Twinmotion/Unreal, Blender, 3ds Max, or similar
• Knowledge of Adobe CC Photoshop is a must; Premiere and After Effects is a plus
• Interest in architectural visualisation and VR storytelling
• Accurate, curious, hands-on and eager to experiment
• Excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus
• Availability for a minimum of 6 months, full-time (32–40 hours/week)
• Preferred start: February/March or September (earlier/later by agreement)
