Barcode architects

At Barcode Architects we design more than buildings. We create inspiring spaces, surprising structures, and architecture with impact. To strengthen our team, we’re looking for ambitious Architectural Interns who are eager to learn, contribute to live projects, and grow in a fast-paced, international studio.

Your role

You’ll join one of our project teams and work alongside experienced architects on Dutch and international projects. Expect a steep learning curve: from design studies and model making to drawings, visuals and competition/tender support. You’ll receive clear guidance, regular feedback, and plenty of room to develop your skills.

What you’ll do

• Support concept, schematic and detailed design work (studies, drawings, visuals)
• Build physical and digital models and prepare presentation materials
• Contribute to competitions and tenders (layouts, boards, text & image coordination)
• Collaborate closely with your project lead and the wider team; document your work clearly

Your profile

• Current enrolment in Architecture (BSc/MSc) or a closely related field (required)
• Strong graphic & modelling skills; Rhino, AutoCAD and Adobe CC are a must (Grasshopper/Revit are a plus)
• Affinity with physical model making and prototyping
• Accurate, curious, hands-on, and a team player
• Excellent command of English (Dutch and other languages are a plus)
• Availability for a minimum of 6 months, full-time (32–40 hours/week)
• Preferred start: February/March (or September), earlier/later by agreement

To strengthen our visualisation team, we are looking for an ambitious VR / Visualisation Intern who is eager to learn, contribute to high-quality visual outputs, and grow within our fast-paced, international studio.

The role

As a VR / Visualisation Intern, you will work closely with our architects and visualisation specialists to develop immersive and high-end digital content. You will contribute to VR environments, animations, renderings, and visual storytelling for competitions, design studies and project presentations. You will receive guidance, regular feedback, and the space to develop strong visualisation and technical skills.

What you will do

• Create 3D scenes, assets and environments for VR and visualisation
• Support the production of still renderings, animations and immersive experiences
• Build and maintain VR walkthroughs (e.g. in Enscape, Twinmotion or Unreal)
• Prepare visual content for competitions, tenders and presentations
• Collaborate with design teams; ensure clear structure and documentation of your work
• Contribute to digital material libraries and workflow optimisation where possible

What you bring

• Current enrolment in Architecture, Media/Design, Digital Arts, Game Design or a related field (required)
• Strong 3D and visualisation skills
• 3D modelling experience with Rhino is a must
• Experience with tools such as Enscape/Twinmotion/Unreal, Blender, 3ds Max, or similar
• Knowledge of Adobe CC Photoshop is a must; Premiere and After Effects is a plus
• Interest in architectural visualisation and VR storytelling
• Accurate, curious, hands-on and eager to experiment
• Excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus
• Availability for a minimum of 6 months, full-time (32–40 hours/week)
